| Abstract | Neste estudo são abordados aspectos meteorológicos e hidrológicos da zona semi-árida da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio São Francisco. A partir de dados de precipitação referentes a Agência Nacional de Águas (ANA) e do Oceanic Niño Index (ONI) proveniente do Climate Prediction Center (CPC) foi analisada a relação entre a ocorrência de episódios de El Niño e La Niña e anomalias de precipitação. Os resultados mostraram de maneira geral que, como encontrado na literatura, anos com ocorrência da fase positiva do ENOS (El Niño) a precipitação apresentou reduções significativas, enquanto que durante a fase negativa do ENOS (La Niña) ocorreu um aumento na precipitação. Porém em alguns anos isso não foi observado, ou seja, em algumas situações de El Niño são observados valores elevados de precipitação enquanto que valores reduzidos são observados na ocorrência de La Niña. Esse resultado que influencia diretamente a gestão dos recursos hídricos na região de estudo. ABSTRACT: In this study are presented meteorological and hydrological aspects of the semi-arid zone of the São Francisco´s River Basin. From precipitation data of ANA (Agência Nacional de Águas National Water Agency) and the ONI (Oceanic Niño Index) from Climate Prediction Center was examined the relationship between the El Niño/La Niña episodes and precipitation anomalies. The results showed, in a general way, that during the ENSO positive phase the precipitation presented significant reductions, while during the negative phase there was an increase in precipitation. However, in a few years this behavior was not observed, in other words, some years with the El Niño occurrence presented high rainfall values, while reduced values were found in the some La Niña years. This result has a direct influence in the water resources management in the study region. |
