| Abstract | Os modelos de previsão numérica de tempo são ferramentas importantes tanto para a melhoria no entendimento dos fenômenos meteorólogicos, como no auxílio da previsão de tempo. Logo, o conhecimento do desempenho dos modelos, juntamente com seus erros sistemáticos é de suma importância para os meteorologistas e pesquisadores. O Centro de Previsão de Tempo e Estudos Climáticos (CPTEC) do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), com intuito de melhorar a qualidade da previsão de tempo na América do Sul, disponibiliza diariamente previsões de modelos numéricos de tempo, com condição inicial gerada pelo Physical-space Statistical Analysis System (PSAS) do próprio centro e também do Narional Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as previsões de 24 a 72 horas, durante o período de setembro a novembro de 2007, mostrando o resultado percentual de acerto da PNMM para a América do Sul, usando duas diferentes condições iniciais (análises). A análise dos resultados deixa claro que o Rpsas_40 apresenta melhores resultados nas primeiras 48 horas de integração, sendo de grande utilidade para a previsão de curto prazo, com um desempenho superior ao ETA_40km. ABSTRACT: The numerical weather prediction models are important tools for the improvement in the knowledge of the performance of the models, together with its bias quality controls, is of utmost impotance for forecasters and the researches. With the goal to improve the quality of the weather forecast over South America the Center of Weather Forecast and Climate Studies (CPTEC) of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), provide daily forecasts of numerical weather prediction, with initial condition from Physical-space Statistical Analysis System (PSAS) and also from National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). In this work are shown the evaluations of the SLP in the forecasts from 24 to 72 hours, during the period of Septmber to November of 2007, showing the results of two different initial condiditons (analysis). The analysis of the results are clearly the RPSAS_40 presents better results in first 48 hours of forecast, being of great utility for the forecast of short term, with a superior performance over the ETA_40km. |
