AbstractO objetivo principal desse estudo foi realizar testes de sensibilidade e avaliar as previsões da intensidade do vento próximo à superfície do Modelo Eta para a região Nordeste. Foram realizados experimentos numéricos com resoluções horizontais de 5 e 10 km, resoluções verticais com 38 e 50 níveis, mudanças na relação dos comprimentos de rugosidade, de calor e momentum. Também foram realizados testes de sensibilidade com a estimativa da altura da camada limite atmosférica. Os experimentos com aumento do valor de CZ apresentaram as maiores diferenças principalmente sobre o continente, tornando o vento mais intenso nas regiões costeiras do Maranhão, Ceará e Rio Grande do Norte. Em geral, os resultados do vento a 10 m de altura modelado pelo Eta apresentaram alguma sensibilidade aos parâmetros testados, embora pequena. ABSTRACT: The main objective of this work is to carry out sensitivity tests and evaluate the Eta Model near-surface wind forecasts. The tests consisted of running the model at 5 and 10-km horizontal resolutions, 38 e 50 levels of vertical resolution, changing the relations between the turbulent transfer of momentum and heat, in the surface boundary layer parameterization. Sensitivity tests were also carry out for boundary layer height estimate. The experiment in which CZ was increased, showed the differences on the continent, where winds became stronger along the coastal regions of the Maranhão, Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte. The parameter which controls the boundary layer height showed opposite impacts between ocean and continent. In general, the Eta model 10-m winds showed some sensitivity to the tested parameters, though marginal.
