AbstractNeste trabalho, utiliza-se o Modelo Regional Espectral (RSM) aninhado ao Modelo Global do Centro de Previsão de Tempo e Estudos Climáticos (CPTEC) para simular a evolução espaço temporal climatológica da Zona de Convergência Intertropical (ZCIT) no Atlântico oeste avaliar a qualidade e quantidade da precipitação climatológica diária para região litorânea e Semi-Árida do Nordeste do Brasil para o período de 1970-1999. Os resultados obtidos mostram que o RSM tem uma boa destreza em simular a ZCIT, inclusive captando o seu ramo secundário mais ao Sul. Adicionalmente, a evolução temporal da precipitação climatológica diária (simulada e observada) para região litorânea e do semi-árido têm uma boa concordância, exceto que o RSM tende a subestimar a precipitação na estação chuvosa e a superestimar na estação seca. ABSTRACT: In this work the Regional Model System nested to the Global Model of the Center of Forecast of Time and Climatic Studies (CPTEC) to simulate the evolution temporary space climatological of Intertropical Converge Zone (ZCIT) in Atlantic Ocean west and to evaluate the quality and amount of the daily climatological rainfall for coastal and semi-arid area of the state of Northeast of Brzzil for the period of 1970 -1999. The obtained results show that RSM has a good ability in simulating the ZCIT, besides capturing his secondary branch more southernmost. Additionally, the temporary evolution of the daily (simulated and observed) climatological rainfall for coastal area and of the semi-arid they have a good agreement, except that RSM trends to underestimate the precipitation in the rainy station and to overestimate in the station it dries..
