AbstractNesse trabalho são analisadas, via modelagem computacional, as alterações observadas na circulação atmosférica sobre o sudeste da América do Sul em decorrência da observação de anomalias positivas na TSM da região de confluência das correntes oceânicas do Brasil e das Malvinas. Para a realização desse estudo foi utilizado o modelo de circulação geral da Atmosfera CAM 2.02 do NCAR. As anomalias da TSM foram geradas a partir de funções analíticas que representam espacial e temporalmente os padrões observados no verão de 2005. Os resultados demonstraram que as anomalias da TSM na região da CBM exerceram um papel importante na circulação atmosférica sobre a América do Sul, intensificando sistemas de baixa pressão transientes que passam por perto dessa região, gerando um padrão ondulatório que se estende da Região Sul do Brasil até a Região Nordeste. Esse padrão ondulatório da circulação vertical da atmosfera ocasiona diminuição de precipitação na Região Sul do Brasil e favorece a configuração da ZCAS sobre a Região Sudeste. ABSTRACT: In this work, the observed changes in the atmospheric circulation pattern over the Southeast South America due to the positive SST anomalies in the area of Brazil-Malvinas Confluence (BMC) are examined via computer modeling. The atmospheric general circulation model CAM 2.02 of NCAR was used. The SST anomalies were generated from analytical functions that were able to represent the spatial-temporal patterns observed in the summer of 2005. The results indicated that the SST anomalies in the BMC region had an important role in atmospheric circulation in South America, intensifying transient low pressure systems that pass close to the referred region, creating a wavelike pattern that extends from the South Region of Brazil to the Northeast Region. Such wavelike pattern of the vertical circulation in the atmosphere provides rainfall decrease in the Southern.
