AbstractO impacto do desmatamento da Amazônia na circulação oceânica tropical é investigado através da aplicação de modelagem acoplada, atmosférica e oceânica. Através da subtração dos campos de velocidade climatológicos de um cenário onde a Amazônia apresenta alto nível de savanização de um experimento controle é possível quantificar e identificar o impacto na circulação de superfície e portanto no padrão de distribuição de TSM. A TSM, por sua vez modula a atmosfera, amplificando o impacto. ABSTRACT: The Amazon deforestation inpact on the upper ocean circulation is investigated using numerical modeling (AGCM, OGCM, and CGCM). Comparing the experiment velocity fields with control experiment generated velocity fields it is possible to quantify and identify the impacto on the upper ocean circulation and therefore in the SST field. The SST field is important to modulate the atmosphere and therefore amplifies the impact.
