| Abstract | Esse estudo faz parte de um esforço internacional para melhor compreender os processos que ocorrem em altas e médias latitudes e suas teleconecções com fenômenos de escala global. A região de estudo se situa no Atlântico Sudoeste e é caracterizada pelos gradientes térmicos oceânico e atmosférico promovidos pelo encontro de duas correntes oceânicas de características distintas, a Corrente do Brasil, quente e salina, e a Corrente das Malvinas, fria e pouco salina. O objetivo principal desse trabalho é estudar o conteúdo de calor oceânico local e os casos de anomalias extremas de temperatura da superfície do mar relacionados aos anos de ENOS. ABSTRACT: This study is part of an international effort to better understand the processes that occur in high and average latitudes and its teleconnections with global scale phenomena. The study region is in the Southwestern Atlantic and its characterized by the thermal gradients in the ocean and atmosphere promoted by the meeting of two oceanic currents of distinct characteristics, the Brazil Current, hot and saline, and the Falklands Current, cold and less saline. The goal of this work is to study the local oceanic heat content and the cases of extreme temperature anomalies in years of ENSO. |
