IPCC AR4
ABSTRACT: This work analyzes the atmospheric circulation changes for the 2011-2040 climatology derived from the ensemble of five models of the IPCC AR4 (GFDL_CM2.1, MIROC3.2_medres, UKMO_hadcm3, CCCMA and GISS-ER) for the A2 scenario. The changes more evident when the A2 scenario is compared with the 1961-1990 climatology (20c3m) happened in the fall and spring. In the fall, due to the northward shift of the ZCIT, and the weakness of the subtropical high of the Atlantic North, the areas of positive anomaly of rain over the Northeast of Brazil are reduce, specifically in the east of Pernambuco, Ceará e Recife regions. On the other hand, in the spring, the area of negative anomaly of rain over the south of Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) decrease of -4 mm/day to -2 mm/day, and this is linked with the northward shift of the subtropical jet (~25°S) with its several related system (i.e.: frontal systems, ciclogeneses, etc) and would be originating the rain over south of Brazil.
