AbstractThe Brazilian NANOSATC-BR1 is a CubeSat scientific satellite developed mainly by undergraduate students from the Federal University of Santa Maria UFSM, Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul RS, Brazil, which are allocated and are developing research projects at the Solar Physics, Interplanetary Medium and Magnetospheres Laboratory - LSFMIM, in the Southern Regional Space Research Center CRS/CCR/INPEMCT, Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, to monitor and to study the Geomagnetic field in the central region of the Rio Grande do Sul, the further south state of Brazil, which is under the influence of the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly - SAMA. The CubeSat has in its structure two magnetometers that are essential for the mission success. One aims to the satellite attitude control in its space orbit, which will be provide by ISL/ISIS Innovative Space Logistics BV, from The Netherlands, which will made measurements of three orthogonal components H (North - South), D (East - West) and Z (vertical). The analysis of these measurements and compare with the vectors of reference previously established the CubeSat microprocessor generates a rotation matrix, or Quaternions in order to rotate it until the measurements are equal to those of the reference. The other magnetometer, Brand Honeywell Model HMR2300 or 2003, with the operating range of -200uT to 200uT and 2% accuracy at 25 º C, quantifies the components H, D, Z at a rate programmable from 10 to 154 acquisitions per second that will be processed and analyzed at the LFSMIM Lab.
