AbstractRESUMO: Os radares meteorológicos banda S de Bauru e de São Roque, fazem parte da rede de radares meteorológicos, formada através do convênio de cooperação entre as instituições: Centro de Previsão de Tempo e Estudos Climáticos (CPTEC/INPE) Departamento de Controle do Espaço Aéreo (DECEA/FAB) Instituto de Pesquisas Meteorológicas (IPMET/UNESP), que monitora o tempo na região centro-sul do Brasil. Alguns pesquisadores avaliaram a qualidade dos dados de refletividades, obtidos com os radares de Bauru e de São Roque, através da comparação com dados do radar a bordo do TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission). Essa pesquisa utiliza os resultados de dois desses trabalhos, para observar as diferenças existentes nas medidas de refletividade para uma área de cobertura comum aos dois radares, e verifica como as diferenças afetam o campo de VIL (Vertically Integrated Liquid conteúdo de água líquida integrada verticalmente) para um estudo de caso. ABSTRACT: COMPARISON OF DATA PRODUCED BY S BAND WEATHER RADARS LOCATED IN SOUTHEASTERN AND SOUTHERN BRAZIL: the S band weather radars Bauru and São Roque, are part of network of weather radars, formed through the agreement of cooperation between institutions: CPTEC/INPE, DECEA/FAB and IPMET/UNESP, which monitors the weather in the central-south region of Brazil. Some studies evaluated the quality of data obtained with radar of Bauru and São Roque by comparison with data obtained by radar on board the TRMM-PR (Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission Precipitation Radar). This research uses the results of two such studies, to observe the differences in the measures of reflectivity for a coverage area common to two radars, and notes how these differences affect the field of VIL (Vertically Integrated Liquid) for a case study.
