Modelo GL1.2

AbstractSolarimetric data (ultraviolet - UV, UV+VIS and global irradiances) were compared for Maceió AL, January and June 2008. Data sources were an UFAL site (UV and global) and satellite estimates by CPTEC GL model (UV+VIS and global). It was found close linearity of UV irradiance against UV+VIS and global radiation. Linear coefficients were 0,042-0,048 and 0,030, respectively, for clear-sky as well as cloudy conditions. Comparison between GL model and ground truth suggests an accurate assessment of solar irradiance in clear-sky conditions, and a need of better assessment of planetary reflectance in cloudy scenes (associated to proper calibration of GOES VIS channel).
